Come and Join Us!

Credit unions are local ethical savings and lending financial services that operate flexible low-cost loans for people that need them.

Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the Blackmore Vale area - that means anyone in the area covered roughly by Blackmore Vale Magazine and Vale FM local radio.

Blackmore Vale Branch's first 'service point' in Gillingham is open every Saturday between 10am and 12 noon (map)

Further service points will open in Shaftesbury, Sturminster Newton, Blandford and Mere as soon as enough volunteers come forward to staff them.

Blackmore Vale Branch is a fully-fledged branch of First Dorset Credit Union (FDCU), based in Dorchester. FDCU has a current membership of some 1200 and funds of nearly £500,000.
